    Almost looks like reeding, but most likely is PMD.

    It does look like a hit from the reeding of another Ike. Maybe he spent some time in Borneo with the natives.

    That's a heck of a battle wound, Ike has. It looks raised, like a struck-through. Is it?

    If it is raised, can you see whether metal around it is recessed, as it would be from a bag hit?

    With nothing more to go on I'd agree with a reed hit.

    If it were raised, it would have to be a retained strikethrough, but I doubt it.

    So are you guys saying I should stop dropping Ikes on my other Ike's from 5 feet? Maybe go to more around 1 foot?

    And yes, it's raised. Like it's peeling.

    I'll just post it on ebay as Monster Rainbow Toned One-Of-A-Kind Huge Mint error with a buy it now of $800.

    When a coin is dinged from a bag hit, or from intentional damage (like the one below) metal is moved...raised like a ridge, and dug about it.
