Thanks Brian. Yes there were a few people that told me they thought about buying it -- and one guy on the PCGS board told me he was interested in buying it from me. Parts of the coin has dark toning, which I think scared some people off. I thought it was worth evaluating in hand. The historical aspect of this coin is pretty cool.
Looks like nice luster on the reverse! Maybe it's the photo but it looks like hairlines sweeping across liberty's face and the left field. Have you looked at it closely with a good loupe? Lance.
Finally received from Stack's (and Guttag Family) yesterday. Might be the lowest graded Oregon in the auction, but I think the prettiest. Here are the auction pics
Gorgeous, Rob! That has a very pretty look and appears to have spectacular luster. First class images, as always. Lance.
Facial Markings I just bought the coin yesterday and have not seen it up close yet. The cheek marks are the first thing I plan on looking at up close as I am a little concerned about them, however, this coin appears to have an abundance of luster which is contradictory to cleaning. I guess I will just have to wait and see! Thanks for the input.
Nice Oregon Commemorative I have been wanting to add one of these to my collection as I have ancestors who came to Oregon in the early 1850's through the 1870's.
That Oregon commem is a beauty and your images are so much more detailed and show that color 1000 times better than the auction images.
WOW - what a difference in images. Theirs I would have skipped, but yours make it look very lusterous. Nice addition.
Think how high action prices would go if robec was taking all the picture! I can't believe the major auction companies haven't caught on to that yet. I guess you have to read between the lines on how they look on those sites. Matt
Redskins26, This Indian Head Cent is stunning. It is a set that I collect also. I don't own any proofs, but plan to in the future. Do you have many proof Indians? I love the toned proofs. They don't get any better than that!
Hello dwhiz; That is one very clean and lovely Buffalo Nickel! I don't think I have ever seen a MS69 Buffalo! It looks like it was minted yesterday! Congratulations on one heck of a nice coin.
