My Barber quarter was graded MS-65 by PCGS today, I bet it would have gone higher if the graders hadn't all lost $$$ in the silver crash !!!
Picked up this 1909. Common as dirt and I already have one, but it's original and I bought it slabbed at a very good price. It was an easy decision for me. The next coin is one of three Philippine hoard coin dates. Most are found in XF and cleaned. VF problem free coins are hard to find and I was glad to pick this one up. I paid strong for it, but it was well worth it in my mind.
Got about $50 face value of circulated Barbers in 2x2 holders in today's mail. The grades range from AG-VG and a few of the coins have problems, but I thought it would be a fun lot to go through especially since I bought them for under melt at the time... probably closer to melt value or even more now that silver has gone down, but still cool.
Love that 99 S Log. That's one of the holes that still needs filling in my DANSCO. I cracked out the 93 I posted above, another coin liberated from its plastic tomb!
Thanks for the compliment on the 99-S. I'm not ready to break any of my halves out. I'm ok with them being in their tombs.... Although I did bust some Franklins out for a Library of Coins album the other day...
I just resized the image of the 1902-S Quarter, Jello. Its not as clear as it should have been. I should reimport it to Photobucket in a larger format.
Mike, nice to see you back here again....you should update everyone here with your new set you have been working on!....
Log Potato - I only have a dozen and a half newps - and should have at least another four dozen with in two weeks. I have a lead to another VF collection... and they are all certified - and I'm working on a raw Dansco ... so, I don't know exactly what I'll be doing.
Will do - BTW - I just got another consignment of Barber Quarters and Halves - SLQ's too. I should have them with me in Pittsburgh - stop by table 529 - to say Hi to Glenn & I.
That would be one nice lead to have. It seems around here all the leads are at the cash for gold spots but most of them won't give you the opportunity to look through anything.
