The diplomatic offical term for Canadian error coins is "varieties," but they're really the result of Mint errors. Some happen. This coin, which I found last evening in my extreme penny-roll searching, is a 1968 Curved Clip Planchet Variety. They come from the sheets being misaligned when fed into the puncher during blanking: either a little too forward or a little too back. The Canadian Error Coins website has a page on them here, and a walk-through page of Royal Canadian Mint procedure and related errors here. And here's the coin: A little banged-up, showing its age, but it's got that curved clip. And I found it in the wild, out of store rolls!
It's similar to one that I found about a year ago, except that mine had a tiny second clip. Yours looks like it might too at 9:30 on the reverse. Not to steal your thread or anything, but here's mine; The clips are at 9:00 and 11:00.
Roll searching. Also from a store. For some reason, most of my good finds come from store rolls, not the boxes.

You're right , I should have read your post more carefully. I still don't see anything at 9:30. Not saying there's nothing there, your eyes might be better than mine.
