NICE! I think they gifted it a 65 for the stike, they love knocking woodies down a point or two. I love the color of it.... that coin is the BOMB man. Jez, you STOLE that coin for 800 bones! I would have grabbed it immediately too, bargain price. These are rare in 65!
Just guessing, but I think you got it for that price because it is a woody. Although that is a plus for me, most consider it a negative.
I have looked at his. BION, I prefer Matt's. His may be less red, but they have more character. And please don't take that as an insult Lance.
rlm, I believe I got the price from a "don't want er" or what we say usually is "don't buy pennies from a penny guy, buy them from a dollar guy" or vice versa. There are many dealers that just don't pay sh** for coin deals and just double the price without looking up the values and they are content with that. So, Maybe the seller didn't care for it, but it is probably the most coin for the money I will ever be able to afford. Matt
I had PCGS take a new image of one of my best toned woodie 1909 VDB cents for their CoinFacts website: PCGS MS66RB
These are amazing, I've never seen that kind of look before... Lincoln cents do amazing things over the years...Thanks for sharing..
Here are a couple more, found in an old stash. The 20-S is probably a G6. The 20, F15. That's not gunk on the 20, BTW. Lance.
