Hong kong one dollor cud error??

    I recently got this coin and I am trying to figure out what is covering Queen Elizabeths face and why. And if it could be some kind of cud error..And help would be very much appriciated 106_0343.JPG 106_0348.JPG

    Melted with a flame. The spelling of "Dollar" is on the coin. How did you mess that one up?

    Was typing fast. talking to my son at the same time. Oh well . Not everyone is perfect. and I am here asking about a coin ,not trying to get complaints about my Spelling.

    Looks like a metal dripped onto it. If it was a die break then the color of the planchet would appear the same.

    Solder? Like someone put solder on after the coin was minted??

    YUP! A drop of hot solder was allowed to fall onto your coin sometime AFTER​ it left the mint.

    It was probably soldered to something at one time. Belt buckel, some other piece of jewelery etc.

    I would have to agree that most likely, that is what happened. Even on the pictures, the metal laying on it looks different from that of the coin.
