There are some beautiful Morgans in here. I'm not a big Morgan collector but I do have 10 or so of em. This is probably the best one I have. I'm not that great a grading them. Anyone want to take a stab at what she grades at? 1890-CC
I believe the slabs in the previous post are ok. It's just they are all very old (first generation perhaps?) NGC slabs -- I think dealers call them "fattie slabs". The labels are what probably look funny to you as they have no printing on them other than the coin info. The coins in them look great by the way!
I have a proof dime in the 3rd gen..holder from ngc.. something like August 88-89 mine has a green border, these are first or second I believe..
keep posting gang!! Morgan Dollar fever is in the air :thumb:Wow a very nice new lot of Morgan's Dollar!! too many too list!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to dig up my 1893-O someone put an X on I hate that But it a keeper due to date&mint mark! :kewl:
The NGC logo on the back of the 1886 slab, for example, looks crooked. Is that normal for the "fatty" slabs?
This came in the mail yesterday -- totally blew me away. This has the best color of the 20 or so toned Morgans that I own. [Note that I posted this in another thread, so sorry if you have already seen it. Thought there might be some subscribers to this thread that hadn't had the pleasure.]
Both of those last Morgans are beautiful... The 81s proof and the 84o ms63... Love the obverse color of the 84o
That's an NGC 2.1....probably the 2nd rarest slab in existence besides the NGC 1.0 black slab. The gold logo was stamped into the white insert so I am sure the insert could have been slightly crooked when the stamping was done....not uncommon at all but folks are used to the current holders so an all white label just looks a bit fake to those not familiar with the different varities
I've got 2 coming in the mail early next week.. been looking forward to these for a while.. will post when in hand.
1887 S$1 PCGS MS 65 - Nice end roll toning! From the Bob Campbell collection. He spent 25 years putting together the best end roll Morgan toned coin collection he could find. :smile :smile:smile :smile
