If most expensive means "paid the most for," it's this one:

The 28 Peace Dollar was posted by mistake. I posted it first but after reading circulated coins I went with my 1917D. I don't know how to remove the Peace Dollar pic.

Relatively most expensive, considering the punch mark and some wear the coin is still $1,000+ and Krause states there are 4 known (although there are at least 10 known at present).

    Hello Numismat,

WOW, You have posted something that just made me say "WOW" out loud.
I collect similar coins from Central America but have nothing with that kind of rarity. The punch must be an old attempt at putting a hole in the coin so it could be strung like so many other Central American coins.

I am planning to attend the Westchester NY show this next Saturday. Are you planning to go to the show? If you are, then lets share meeting information by PM. I'll actually have a book of my Central American coins at the show.

Thanks for the compliment! I believe this is actually an old assay punch. I found another in auction archives that has a similar spot and also on the assayer's initial letter M.
I don't generally attend coin shows, but I never knew there was one right over in Westchester either. Will look into it.
    Thanks! =)

Seems about right for an altered date coin, lol!

PS: The known original examples are all proofs.

My coin is a 2 reales from Honduras with a much higher mintage than your coin. The NGC label says this one is EF45.

If only the attempted punch could tell us its story.
