I will venture to say vf30. $2000-$3000. Possibly even a better grade. I really am just guessing because I do not have one or have any experience with them. :)

    beautiful coin though!

AU 50 - 6-7000. its toning or whatever is pretty ugly tho.

Yeah xf45-au50 is probably more realistic now that I compared it a little more to others.

I agree on toning but it´s still a nice piece all the same. I agree on the AU50 but that will have to be seen :)

Although the toning isn't pretty, it doesn't distract me from the overall awesomeness of the piece. It would make a tremendous addition to anyones collection no doubt.

That Bust dollar with that toning looks better than my bust dollar. Since I don't have one.

Hey Siggi, I have some questions for you.
Where does someone in Sweden get a coin like this?
Is it something bought locally, and if that's the case, is there a heavy premium because it's a foreign coin and most likely a lot harder to come by there?

Or do you purchase most of your U.S. coins via the internet and the U.S.?
And lastly, why do you have nicer U.S. Coins than me?
How would you like it if I started posting awesome Swedish coins and made you all jealous?

As i´m not from Sweden and do not live there I havent got a clue ;)I

But in Iceland these are hard to find but nothing surprises me any more, There is no premium just an agreement on price. Catalog prices, ebay ect. But if you buy coins from abroad you have to pay VAT wich is 24.5 % of invoice so poeple arent buying coins any more.

I do not collect US coins but I like the early US coins. And maby if become a millionaire i´ll start collecting them :)

Would have to see it in hand but based on the pics I think that coin has shot at going MS, high AU at the least. Looks like a 5 figure coin to me.

Depending on the price, you might want to try and get a look at that coin Siggi ;)

It truly is a wonderful looking coin to say the least.. Toning not withstanding, I don't know many folks that wouldn't be happy to have such a specimen in a collection.

Oh, by the way, how did your search for the Oregon commemorative turn out? I notice that site had a MS68 that is now sold...thought perhaps you picked it up.........

You never cease to amaze me Siggi, you can find anything! Thats the main reason I don't really collect many US coins. The prices are completely out of hand
on everything right now. I just can't afford to keep up nor do I want to. There are just SO many world coins with beautiful designs, they are small peices of art
    IMO.

You must to teach me the ways of the force.

You have to examine Bust dollars really closely, because there are a lot of fakes, especially with the 1799 (I learned that the hard way). It should definitely be sent in for authentication.
