My friend had brought this coin from Brazil . the weight is 26.64 gs . how I know it is real or fake?
In that condition and for a very common date, it's likely real. It's basically worth Silver Melt value. Doesn't seem too lucrative to counterfeit this one. The mintage weight is 26.73 grams, and yours looks a little worn, so that weight seems reasonable. The diameter should be 38.1 mm. It looks to be pretty harshly cleaned from the pictures.
Awww.. the Chinese counterfeiters don't care: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Replica-192...44?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item2567491848 Or just buy a set of 96 coins from 1878 through 1921. The "COPY" stamp will not be there. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Replica-96C...67?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item2a13aed13f
Understood. But, ultimately, it doesn't really matter because a 1921 Morgan in less than MS63 is worth melt for all intents and purposes. Doesn't mean it isn't fake, but I don't see any red flags based on the pictures.
