I logged into Numismaster just now and saw the total value of my collection dropped over 40%. I browsed through my coins and saw the average price of my Walkers dropped from 14 to 7.50-8.00. What is going on?
Well it must be because I'm buying them and paying less than I used to pay. Actually I think the prices did a bigger than warrented upswing with silver's increase and now are adjusting to the real collector demand. Edit to add that the prices I am seeing are for collector grade coins not the lower end ones that would be in scrape silver lots. As mentioned in the next post base should be at spot silver price.
I just logged on and the lowest priced Walker I saw was $14.00 in G4. I think you must be on the wrong page.
I can't find a 1916-S, 1917-D obv, 1921, & 1921-D at cheap prices. Even in AG to VG prices they seem pretty high. Maybe I will get lucky and find somebody selling them for silver melt value!
Haven't really noticed it , but I haven't rally bought any and the only coins that drop in price are the ones I buy . LOL
I really dought if your going to see the series keys going for melt. Even though I did lose about sixty dollars selling that 21-S on Sunday.
I was looking at some pcgs graded walkers over the weekend.. most were in the ms60-64 range and priced between 60-85 for dates in the 1940's. The only early one I saw was a 1917 ms63 at 140.00. However, this was in an antique mall/shop so I can't vouch for prices overall.
