After a few month,s of basically pulling up stakes and moving across the country i,am Almost back to my normal self, ALMOST!! I was able to make the Long Beach, California show about 30 minutes north of me Trying to hunt down the elusive high grade Mpc,s and cross grade one,a very important One to my Series 641 set which is the $5, this is somewhat common in low grades But there are only 2 at PMG which that number has dropped to 1 that are in 67 3 at PCGS so i was just thrilled when it came back 67PPQ i,m 5 out of 5 when it comes to Cross grading from PMG to PCGS, i also picked up a 67 25 Cent note as well at the show To replace my 66. The good stuff is so far to find!! Here,s my result on the Series 641 $5 Before: And after:
Oh, almost forgot my 25 cent, i dont have a before picture because i bought it and submitted At the show
Pretty dramatic colour shift betwixt the first $5 and the second $5. The first appears to be from an early printing stage with a well inked plate, whilst the second was later on a lesser inked plate.
They are the same note. The difference in appearance is caused by the different holders used by the TPG services.
It,s the same note and the same color the lighter image was done with a contrast and the other was not And like lettow suggest,s the PMG holder is a bit darker
Very nice upgrade Rusty......is this what the troops were being issued in Vietnam ? I'm not a big fan of PMG's holder, but I do like the additional information as compared to the PCGS holder.
I agree, the PMG holder does offer more info such as what printing and year of issue, which is always Nice to have To answer your question yes the Series 641 was issued in Vietnam, out of All the Series 681 is my favorite it was also used there and is the only one That depicts military images
Nice pickups Rusty. Is there a reason for the cross-grading? Is it for the registry sets of both companies?
Don't listen to him Rusty, we love seeing all your new pickups. I really love the vibrant colors on these notes. Congrats! :thumb: Bruce
fyi the stuff i post is not for sale!! As far as your comment why dont you take a look in the mirror......lol
