For Nixon it will be a photo of him signing his resignation paper.... Then Fords will be his signing Nixons presidential pardon form....

I have lots of the presidential dollars, and I think they are good for kids to learn the presidents. I think the designs are somewhat sloppily composed and, just a couple observations of the 2011 dollars:

    1) Apparently beards were trendy in the 1870s and 1880s? :)

    2) Why must every president have spaghetti hair??? Really??

On another note, I love Civil War history, so I actually like the Grant dollar this year. Nice pick-up of the bank rolls. It's fun looking through the rolls to try to find the coins with the least amount of abrasion on the forehead -- that location seems to be the limiting factor for high grades.

    Yes, very trendy.

Back then Saturday night was bath night, so you were nice and clean for church on Sunday morning. During the week it was a wash up at the wash bowl.

I like the look of the Pres's this year. Not "cheesey looking" as some of the other years.....

I agree with you. They are an improvement over some of the previous years. I really like the Grant issue. The two attached Pres dollars are in my 2011 Mint set....they are the only MS69 graded Grant Dollars from either NGC or PCGS. They probably won't stay pop-1 coins forever, but they will likely always be top-pop. They are satiny beauties, even though they no longer make Satin Finish coins. :)

Beauts! How many sets did you search for those 69s? (or did you pay the price of having someone else find them!)

I paid more than what most sane people would consider paying for a modern coin. But, they will be in my collection a long time and they will hopefully remain very low pops. I actually bought them as a pair (strangely). They were "made" by a large modern coin seller in Florida, and I am the 2nd owner. If you want more details, I'm happy to share them via Private Message. :)

I've recently started collecting them too. Fast and easy to accumulate a nice set. I still want that William Henry Harrison dollar though >.<

McBlzr - How do you get those from the bank? I have tried getting them locally, but I live in a small town and don't have much luck getting recently released coins. Is there a secret to it? I've tried banks where I work also. I've gotten a couple of rolls of shield cents and that's about it.
