Does anyone know if the Friedbergs have "split" F-2057 to reflect the two different backs? Split, or created a new number to accomodate the old back and the new back. Thanks, Steve Alexander in Mississippi
I do not have Friedbergs 19th edition so I can not say if there is a change there. This is OT from your question but is at least about the same notes; with the simple change that made series 1934A I'd think the different backs would have made a change from 1934C to 1934D. There is much more design change here than there was for 34 to 34A. Could the answer be as simple as there was no change to the front?
Seris 1934 C comes with both old and new backs. The change was in 1948 when Truman added the balcony. Then the series 1934 D had wide and narrow backs.
Here is the old versus the new back on the Series 1934 C: For Series 1934 D, the difference between the wide and narrow backs is subtle:
...and finally, the center flag is different. Thanks guys for the responses. If anyone finds two Friedberg numbers for the two versions of '34C $20, let us know. Best Wishes 'n Happy Collecting.
