My last 2 ... one from eBay and one from the dirt

The capped bust dime was bought on eBay ... cherrypicked from a "lot", and the nicely patina'd merc was excavated by myself just yesterday morning from a depth of 5 inches.

Nice bust dime, I've been wanting to pick one up for a while... what was your cost on that one?

I'll end up with about 150 dollars in the capped bust dime. It was a gamble ... and not likely to happen again soon. It could have turned out to be a much lesser coin. I bought it from pretty lousy pictures.

I have wanted this particular portrait style of Roman Empress Crispina for sometime now, she's never cheap but I am very happy to have her in my collection now.

Got this 1960 small date today. You really cant see from pic. but this is a proof coin. The spots are toning (they look blue when you see the coin in hand) 100_5335.jpg 100_5341.jpg

There are a couple of small scratches on the obverse, but there is something that I find exciting about the year 1804. And the reverse is the bomb. PCGS grades it MS61. Kind of an odd grade.

    nice looking pickups everyone!

I recently added a couple of late Mercury's that I'm missing ('42 and a '45-D). I think I'm going to try and pick up a 1916-D at the Long Beach show next week. I need to get that one out of the way so all of the rest seem like pocket change! :D

Since I'm gunning for 64FB and better for the whole set, the '16-D is a long way off for me haha.

I'll hardly be able to afford an MS for that one. I think I'd just be happy with a date filler. G4 would work for me :)

Here is an upgrade I've been waiting a few years to do. Unfortunately I had to say no to a wonderful 65RD -- it was 6x more expensive! This is a PCGS 65RB. It's a bit darker than I like for a RB but the surfaces are lovely and the strike, for a '20's branch coin, is really pretty decent.
