What are your thoughts about it? Like it or hate it? I think there is still room for improvement, but this isn't bad.

Still not crazy about it. I didn't like their earlier version of have the little postage stamps per store front, and this one is even worst. I simply think there would be a better way to show the stores, and highlight stores that pay mroe for better listings, than this method.

To me, it just seems like 1990's web design. I think its "clunky".

Having said that, I love the group of dealers, and Bill who runs Vcoins has done amazing things for the hobby. Its great to patronize all of these folks, I personally just do not like the website layout.

    Maybe its just me.

Ive already said my piece on the Forvm thread on it. There is alot of bugs on it still. I dont like the new search at all, it requires extra clicking just to use advanced features. I also liked that it saved my style of page layout & search options.

The worst is it showing sold coins of yesteryear that I would jump on now. :(

I know man, I saw the best under $100 budget Vespasian Denarius. It was scarce and actually had detail. I think maybe they did that to attract new customers, lol. We both know that the prices aren't THAT low now. Shoot, Bargainbin isn't even that low. Either those are from more than a few years ago, or lowered prices for customers buying a lot of coins - either way they need to get that fixed. That, and the price range search doesn't work.

Wanna get real depressed, look up roman republics..oye....some nice ones for $60 and such, damn..I sure got into ancients late.

I read in the Wall Street Journal that ancients have gone up 15% a year. Just from my 19 months collecting ive noticed the jump.

The price range search worked for me off/on lastnight but I havent tried it today. No $ till next month now, lol.

I think the price spike has been most noticable since you started Mat. If you are depressed now, you should see some of the purchases I made 8 years ago, (group of 50 Roman f-Ef for $140).

Prices are definitely up, especially in the last year. I would say 15% is too light from what I am seeing. I have had 70 snipes over the last two weekends on Ebay, total auctions won: 0.

Honestly I havent bid on a ebay auction in a few weeks. The coins I have watched end up way past what I would pay usually a day before it ends. I was doing really well for awhile but the types I want are going for too much or not surfacing.

When Vcoins first went back up, I was so happy with all teh awesome deals too:hail: Then realized all the bookmarks I added were all sold :mad::mad::mad:
I think it'll work out well though eventually. Remember when Cointalk was updated?

Yeah ebay ancients are definitely getting more pricey.

BTW, I've noticed a big jump in price for LRB too, particularly in the fallen horseman fel temps.

Lol, hopefully they remove those sold listings...its depressing :(

I didnt have too many issues with the CT change, I actually like it. I wish Forvm would update their forum software. Still get "session" issues now and then.

I saw an ant. of Caracalla for like $40  lol

sesstion issue may in part be due to what browser you use.

    Lol...$40...:(

But when you think about it most ancients are still cheaper then alot of U.S. coins, especially in the high grades *U.S.*.

I havent noticed the jump in fallen horseman but I dont look for them or much LRB.

I use Chrome but have had the error on Safari & Firefox. Was a thread on the error in the help section.

Ah, well I collect U.S. by type and most of mine are raw in the VF - AU range .About a quarter of them being slabbed. Im pretty much done since gold is out of control.

You are definitely right Randy. I got a group of LRB from Germany like 6 years ago, and after seeing what Vcoins and Ebay has them going for, (VF-EF common coins), I am thinking I need to put them in SDB. I bought these all day long for $3 a coin in bulk back then. Trying to buy something now is just depressing.

I wonder if the fields are playing out. That would explain LRB, but I see prices up across the board. Maybe its just a function of people pulling money out of investments in sinking them into hard assets, just like the PM market.

An example of the increase is a good VF Republican used to be $50. Many collectors bought one of these a month like clockwork at these prices. This was still true 5 years ago. What's the going price for one today? Would $150 buy one? The last I bought was $100, but I am cheap.

Some seem to to be 3-5 times higher from just a couple years ago. At $3 a coin from 6 years ago, its seems some have gone up x30 lol

Ya know though, some of my earlier coins that I paid $3-4 for are probably worth 20-30 now :D :D :D
