Anyone who alters a genuine coin to increase its numismatic value is in violation of Title 18, Section 331 of the United States Code, which is punishable by a fine or imprisonment for up to five years, or both."
I want to report that auction as counterfiet, but HOW? There is no clear pics, no funny wording, and I can't just say "it's from China so it's counterfiet". I hate to see that 6 customers have already been taken, and that they'll think they are real and dump them into the market that is my hobby.
Got quick response to my question Question: These are fake right ? Answer: Hi! It is real Morgan Silver Dollars, thank you.
Really? Recent Chinese counterfeit shops have caused me to personally avoid all things coin related from China. Chop marked Trade dollars. Pandas. Heck, any US Coin with a shipping location listed as China makes RED FLAGS an alarms go off inside my brain. Who else would be selling "LOTS" of 100 Morgan dollars and have over 10 LOTS for sale? Really?!? 1000 Morgan dollars, all genuine, from CHINA for $359 a LOT? Either the seller is stupid or selling fakes.
LOL, I just hopped on CoinTalk to post about these ... just came across them from eBay myself. Shocker that the seller is based out of China, eh?
http://contact.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?CustomerSupport Type "Counterfeit" and a link to report the acution number pops up.

Of course this law does not apply to our Chinese friends. So let's see... he sold 40 lots of the 100 Peace dollars and 13 lots of the Morgans so far... that's 5,300 fakes making their way through customs. This is probably less than 1% of the fakes entering the U.S. every day of the week, 365 days a year. And it's been going on for many years. Do you for one minute think the Secret Service cares about this? Oh, they'll make a bust now and then... if the buyer tries to sell them as genuine.
