2022 was a very special year for me coin wise. I had four
accomplishments that I'll share. I still can't believe my good
    fortune.

    1. I was able to bring to light a coin discovery not listed in
Bob Levinson's book "The Early Dated Coins of Europe
1234-1500" 2nd Edition or in any other publication.
It is a 1499 1/2 stuiver of Zwolle. For now I gave it a
reference # III-276a. Bob will update later. I purchased
this discovery through a friend here on the forum. 1499 III276 rev. Discovery.jpg

    Here is the obverse.

    2. I reached out to Sean Breazeal about sharing some of my coins
on his web site "Medieval Coinage. com. This site is a supplement to
the Frey and Levinson books. This site deals mainly with Early Dated
pre 1501 A.D. coins. For the most part, European coinage. I started
sending him the images and he places them accordingly. For now
1440-1479 are posted. This really means a lot to me to have my col-
    lection recognized this way. medievalcoinage.com

    3. John Baumgart (messydesk) asked me if he could use one of my
coins in his 2023 calendar. I said sure. This is quite the honor for me.
The gold piece is a Brabant 1488 half noble d'or. It is pictured for March.

    4. This year I bid on over 100 coins. A mix of new coins for my collection
and 10 upgrades. While pleased with the results, the new coins I bid on and
lost may not come back around in my life time. I know, be happy with your
winnings. Tell that to the OCD part of me.
That is it for this year. A most excellent year coin wise. I hope the Christmas
Holidays are good for everyone and that 2023 will be a good one for us all. 1458 IV-4 upgrade.jpg

Not in my collecting sphere, but what beautiful coins. Must be a special kind of feeling to see coins you own featured and/or referenced in this way. Congratulations and thanks for sharing

I only tread lightly in the medieval era, mostly English. But I surely can appreciate your accomplishments this year. You did well, very well.

Before 2001 my only experience with medieval coins was with
Hungarian denars dated 1503-1628. I built several sets and
sold/traded them for other coins. I bought Frey's book on the
Early Dated coins and never looked back.
