I believe he created another post on here how he was surprised out of the blue that just a few days ago the PO found the box and delivered it to the TPG.

And you could have gotten that employee fired by simply going to the post office and lodging a complaint, or requesting to know where the package was.

People need to get fully informed as to their rights in these situations and Coin Talk and other sites help do this. It used to be people were left in the dark or intimidated out of doing anything by a high priced lawyer or the local police (as I used to be). Don't get mad, get justice (legally).

I have lost a lot of money by not standing up for my rights. I once sent Ron Paul a couple ounces of gold for a speaking engagement that never arrived. It was not insured, but in a well wrapped priority parcel, with delivery confirmation. I figured that it would surely arrive safely since it was addressed to a U.S. Congressman. The PO offered to re-imburse me for shipping!

I was speaking to a local post master who said it is the part-timers who tend to be the thieves, they get no bennies therefore have less to lose.

True, but they are not allowed to handle Registered mail.

Anything shipped to a congressmen is going to be opened and inspected looking for anthrax etc. Additionally, I'm certain they xray everything, and some flunky decided to "protect" the congressman from potentially hazardous gold that might be part of a devious terrorist plot.
