Redwin, I think that since it could be considered as a repeater, it would probably carry a small premium, but since its also a star itll carry mabey a $10 premium, but thats just IMO

WOW How much did the specimen ladder cost you. Ive never seen one at auction and also how the H*LL did you get a $2 note thats not an error (From what I can see) and get its star counterpart when stars are only suppose to be issued when its non star counterpart was accounted for and caught before being released??
Someone recently offered me $3,400 for the specimen note. The $2 notes are a "$2 Evolution Series" set from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.
Steve, those last note you posted made me think of this set. That's 12 notes with serial numbers: A99999297Y B99999297Y C99999297Y D99999297Y E99999297Y F99999297Y G99999297Y H99999297Y I99999297Y J99999297Y K99999297Y L99999297Y Or, how about this pair? That's a 1969A with serial number A06999963B and a 1969B with serial number A06999963A!
Star notes are a series of their own. Notes that are replaced in the printing process are not replaced with star notes with the same serial number. That defeats the purpose of the star in the serial number. The only purpose of the star is to alert the recipient of a BEP pack of notes that if the serial numbers are out of sequence in the pack, the out of sequence notes will have a star in the serial number. If the BEP replaced notes with the same number, there would be no reason to use a star in the serial number.
Clay...that 1957 SC "Specimen" is simply GORGEOUS. That note would be one of the jewels in my collection.
