whent to a local fleamarket for the first time today. was kinda dissapointed there was only one guy with coins. was gonna grab a 1897 morgan that was blackend but still had good detail but there was a small spot of the green stuff(cant remember its name atm) so i opted out of spending the 40 on it. he pulled out a stack of what was suposed to be franklin and kennedy halves but mixed in with them was 2 barber halves. he stated they were 20 bux a pop then right after he noticed the barbers so i scooped this 1893 from him

    Does anyone remember this?
It's a keychain with a 1964 Kennedy half dollar that was being sold in the years following President Kennedy's assassination. I got one for Christmas or a birthday one year back in the '60s, but I have no idea what happened to it. When I saw this one in a Japanese coin shop, I couldn't resist. The 1000-yen price is the equivalent of roughly $12.50 US.

Thanks. Japanese dealers don't seem to update their prices on US silver very often, so once in a while it's possible to pick something like that keychain coin up for less than melt. And I get something back from my childhood to boot :) The only problem is, the price sticker won't come off :(

Not a good idea. It will melt plastic.

Doesn't look like it's stored in plastic to me, looks like cardboard.

    Could just use water.

The plastic cover is missing, and the price sticker is attached to the black paper which is glued onto the cardboard insert. I think applying water to it might do more harm than good.

I had to have it. I had to pay for it, but you know what they say about unique items. I had my eye on it as soon as it was listed and got to see it in person yesterday.

Very nice...although I'm curious why NGC slabbed it with the reverse facing front.

With it receiving a star for eye appeal they put the more appealing side on the front

Very nice Get Some! The 45D below came today and the 43D was from the set (now removed) that I picked up at the WFOM. My pics do not do them justice!

Just got this in today. Hard to tell with the poor lighting but it is a 1981 D cent on dime planchet.

What did that set you back? My local dealer has an overpriced one right now, he's asking $1100.

With it just being on a dime planchet and not double denomination I got it for $255. It was on E-Bay. I'll have it slabbed with my next batch. I have seen them slabbed in the $400 range.
