Nice Fractional USS!! Somehow I was able to pick up this lot for around $20 this weekend. I have a thing for Not Geld and German bills (the only world money I collect) and couldn't pass this up. I also was able to get a lot of MPC and Allied currency in this lot.
THEN I checked the mail and saw that Heritage had delivered my Confederate note. Saturday was pretty nice for me!
Very nice Confederate Doctor. Along with my NJ obsoletes, I have a small collection of Civil War notes and fractionals. A lot of history behind all these issues. Congrats on your new pickups. Bruce
this is my newest addition to my star collection its run 2 for the IG and there were only 128,00 printed! its very crisp and has no folds =] 10 star note 001 by woodsmen27, on Flickr
I went to a small 40+ dealer show in Trevose, PA today and picked up this nice New Brunswick note for my NJ obsolete collection. I love the vignettes on this one (both sides). I bought it from a dealer friend of mine who's also a member of my coin club. The bank was founded in 1817 and closed in 1873. It reorganized that same year, reopened, and finally closed its doors for good in 1877. Although not dated, it was issued sometime in 1873/1877 period. It's listed in both Wait and Haxby. Bruce
Thanks Steve, it's my first new note since the last Baltimore show. I'll be going to Philly in September and will definitely be looking for some more. Bruce
Thanks Darryl. One thing I forgot to mention in my first post. If you look closely at the top margin, left side near the "1", you'll see remnants of the signature on the previous note. You can see the bottom loop of the "G" and the tail of the cross bar of the "T". Looking at my note's signature, the next note should exhibit the same characteristics. Thanks for your comments guys. Bruce
Nice Star note! I've been looking for a nice example like this one, but I find $10 stars are hard to come by in that example.
Happy Birthday Clay. I really like your Experimental note. Something about the red "S", the white paper, and blue seal that look cool together.
thanks, yea 10's are pretty hard to find. i was strapped for cash one week so i brought some change in to the coinstar and the kid at hannaford handed me this...i was actually pretty flusterd at the fact because i wasnt going to be able to spend it haha.
I'm not really a paper collector but I got my first star note in change today. It's seen way better days but I guess I have to keep it on principle.
Nice expermental note clay! I think that is the next note I will go for. Either that or a Fine example of a $500. Pez, congrats on your first starn note find! It's rough, but a star from circulation nonetheless.
