I posted the other day about a dif between halves from the fed and loomis . I have never seen wrapped halves like this. All the halves I have got in the past that I called fw were yellow wraps lets say not looking new and looked handled . these halves I rec are tight new looking and in a sorta brown wrap with the white of course.
Also I wondered if anyone has ever tryed to weigh the halves before breaking the wrap. I did and found about 4 lite rolls 224.0 to 224.5 grams and 85% weighed exactly 225.5 grams then there are like 8 rolls that weigh over 226.0 to 226.7 I have not cracked any yet what do ya think?

Had a little luck yesterday. Called a local bank asking for halves they said they had $250 in the vault. I said i'll take them i'll and be right now. Ending up a teller had some in her tray so I got $271. Some of the rolls had years marked on them and the teller said "these have already been gone through 3-4 times" so i thought great someones dumps... Ending up finding 4-40%ers and my first 1964! :)

The other day I got two boxes of halfs from the bank i always order from did find two 1964's and I was so amazed to see lots of 1974, 1989 and 1990 halfs that looked like they just came out of the mint, nice and shiny but they were not proofs. keep some just in case. going to a comic book convention right now (I also collect comics) but will be stoping at my local bank to pick up two boxes of dimes. will post results later.

Been busy getting ready for school to start but went out this morning. Pulled some halves from machines at two different banks. Got 4 rolls of dimes and found a 1946 is decent shape. Then went in a coin shop and bought a 2000 BU ASE, a Stone Mountain Half and 1853 Seated Dime with arrows for $60. Not an amazing bargain or anything but nice variety today.

    Went through 1 box of halves (Skunk for Silver, but had 1 x 1977 S Proof) and 3 boxes of dimes (Box 1 - Skunk, Box 2 - 2 x 1964 Rosie, and Box 3 - 2 x 1964 Rosie).

Three boxes of pennies yielded 28 wheats, oldest being a 1935. And one box of nickels had 2011-D's, a full steppers wet dream, but not mine lol.

    Sweeeeet!

Finally getting back into the swing...

Got a nasty cold the last two days on the island, so I've been recovering, unpacking and cleaning, trying to get ready for school next week, etc... I need a vacation! heh

So, I picked up my regular 2 boxes H's and box of D's yesterday, as well as 2 boxes of N's. Did D's last night, all were in clear plastic rolls (that's a first for me, but easy edge searching) - skunk; just finished the first box of H's... skunksville. Was out earlier running errands with The Wife; stopped in a little bank - first teller has $6 loose, second teller first says she doesn't have any. Then the second teller thinks again, asks how many I want, looks at a sheet (I figure it must be the vault inventory) and says she has $40 in the back. "I'll take 'em!" She brings out 3 CWR's and a 2001-D Mint Roll! Nice. 2 40%'s in the CWR's - anyone interested in the Mint Roll?

Went through a box of pennies. Found 18 wheats. The oldest being 1923 and a 1934. the rest were from the 40s and 50s. not too bad for the first box i have done in a while. This thread is what made me get the box in the first place. :)

Found this in a roll of cents, (not pennies; those are used in Britain), sure surprised me since it is in a high grade for the date considering that I pulled it out of circulation.

Love finding BU RD cents. :) That's a nice one, although very weakly struck.

Bank forgot to get the halves out of the vault this am, so I'll do those tomorrow. Box of nickels gave up two BUs and a 44-P. Meh.

    Moonshine ....................

Good weekend for me. I stopped doing nickels a few months ago after 3-4 consecutive skunk boxes of no Wars or Buffalos so I picked up a box this weekend and pulled 3 Wars. 2 boxes of halves both yielded Franklins. $200 dimes gave me a Merc.

    Box of nickels: 3 Wars ('43p, '45p, '45s)
    $200 dimes: '43 Merc
    Partial box ($440) of halves: 1952d, 1963d, 1963d, 1964, 1966, 1968d x2
    Box of halves: 1945, 1960d, 1967
