Here's a current eBay auction listing I came across today: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110730377177 - advertised as "Extra Fine". This same note sold on eBay 10/07/2010 in a PCGS encapsulation, grade 15 "Apparent 20 with margin repairs". Thanks goes to Track & Price for helping me spot this misrepresentation. Be careful out there. New info - contacted seller, he responded quickly, indicating that he had purchased the note (not in a PCGS holder) from a local dealer. Says he'll pull the auction.
Thanks Ed, that service sounds like it would come in handy with high notes. There is a few on my bucket list, like the 86 Morgan back, etc. that I would certainly consider using that service. I wonder if that fellow will do the right thing, and relist it at the lower grade? Certainly hope he didn't burn on his purchased!
Perhaps he will do the right thing, but in the mean time, he's banned me from bidding on his auctions. Guess the truth hurts...
