Hello. I am looking at purchasing some morgans and/or peace dollars. Would appreciate any recommendations for a good online site where I may find these. I am mainly looking for some nice uncirculated , unslabbed coins. Any ideas or information would be appreciated. thanks
bama: Well, you have picked a nice set to collect. Those old large silver coins are really nice. You can use Ebay (of course) but I would stick with certified coins from them, or from anyone for that matter. I have gotten some nice deals there, but the only one's that I grabbed were two 1882 CC's in GSA holders. Nice unc's. Good luck. :thumb:
thanks treashunt I think so to. To me they are they may be the best value out there. Of course some of the key dates are way out there but I have seen some really nice silver dollars for not a lot over melt value. To me it just seems the way to go right now for me anyhow. I do like those big old silver coins
Are there any coin shows in your area? Sometimes it's worth the drive so you can look at the coins in hand. I usually look at sites like coinworld, coinshowdates, and coinshows to see what's close.
Peace dollars for some reason develop that nasty destructive tone. That was one reason I've always shyed away from them... until this past weekend when I picked up two coins. Morgans are ALL OVER the place. I try and buy 1 Morgan every time I go out looking for coins. I picked up about 3 business cards at the Santa Clara coin show of Morgan dollar dealers. PM me if you want details and my opinions on each one. Just understand that I did not buy any coins from any of them at the show or online through their sites.

Jaybird, did you happen to notice the date of this thread? It's 5-1/2 years old. I miss them sometimes, too. Chris
