Which means the buyer paid with one of the other "approved" methods, which all require a CC or linked bank account. If the buyer paid with a check or M.O., I believe that voids eBay's buyer protection.
There is no requirement to have either a credit card, or PayPal account to register for an eBay user account. You just can't buy or sell on eBay without one or the other. My suggestion is no user account on eBay without a credit card. FYI, eBay's buyer protection is voided anyway when a minor, person under the age of 18, purchases and wants to cancel because a minor can not enter into this type of transaction.
Are we really still discussing this topic?! It's a $2 coin that was purchased for $5. NBD! Let's move on!
Exactly my point.. they DID buy the coin. So it's obvious to me that the OP, being a minor, did not have an account with eBay or PayPal. Therefore his father must have been the account holder.
Or allowed his son to create the accounts needed to make the purchase, and oversees the bank account on behalf of his son.
Maybe this is why so many jerks don't leave feedback. I mean, way too many people don't leave feedback for sellers.
Always have your father at your side when reading this forum. While family friendly is does at times get a little out of hand. Especially when it comes to someone new posting. All of us were beginners at one point and by learning we hope to prevent you from some of our mistakes. Of course your $5 mistake is a whole heck of a lot cheaper than a few of mine. One of my rules is - if I am happy with a coin then I do not really care if others thought I overpaid. The best you can do at times is determine a coins retail worth and make sure you do not over spend. Another rule is - check online dealers to see if you can find a comparable coin. Some dealers like vtcoins has what I consider reasonable prices for some lower grade coins. You will see he has a 1901 g-4 coin for $2.25. Some coins on ebay are way over priced, some are reasonable and some are good deals - you just have to figure out which ones. PS - this is a good hobby for a father and son activity. My father started with me when I was 6/7 years old. The best we could afford at the time was to collect wheaties from change. I still have some of those old whitman folders. This can be a fun hobby for a lot of years.
This has to go down in the books as one of the most incompetent groups of people in one thread other than protovdo and myself.
When does school start up again? I'm looking forward to some of you not having so much free time edit: I suppose I should clarify that this wasn't directed towards the OP
