I apologize. The thread is what's it worth, and I just assumed everyone had telepathy. I'm very new to all of this, so it most likely won't be the last time I make a mistake like this. My question is... What it may be worth? Hard to see in pics but it is mirror-like shiny with not a scratch, etc. I bought it off eBay a few years ago and just ran across it recently in my treasure box.
Welcome to Cointalk Hissinfulchk! Some folks like to ignore the obvious and would rather come back with a quick remark rather then actually help people here... Unless the proof dime is Deep Cameo or extremely high grade then it is probably worth $5 or so as Tyler mentioned. If it has been circulated at all it would only be worth melt value, which is the same for the War Nickel you posted in the other thread. A good place to find values for old US silver coins is www.coinflation.com which is updated with the spot price of silver. Enjoy! J
"BU Proof" is an oxymoron. oxymoron - a of speech in which incongruous or contradictory terms appear side by side BU = Brilliant Uncirculated An uncirculated coin is not Proof and a Proof coin is not uncirculated. So the coin is either BU or Proof but not both. Your coin does not appear to be Proof so I will say it is uncirculated.
