Rickyh211, I thought you made a pretty good deal. I hope that you found some coins you needed to fill some the empty slots in your albums. Keep up the good work and show us some photos of any coins or currency you think would be interesting to us. We really like photos.
As for the rest of you, if I had a nine year old interested enough in numismatics to join CoinTalk and pass along his finds and experiences I'd be thrilled. Constructive criticism is fine but to come down on a nine year old for not using tenth grade English grammar is rude, and immature. He will learn to communicate on CT soon enough and much better than most the longer he stays interested in numismatics if the rest of us practice what WE preach, IMHO.

Ordinarily, I would have been one of those who jumped on this bandwagon, but I'm going to take the kid's side for a change.

Geez guys! Give him a break! He's only 9 years young! When I was his age, I was just learning to play pool. It wasn't until I was 10 that I started beating everyone and taking my gambling winnings to the bank to swap for Morgan silver dollars.

when i was 9 learning how to type in school was probably more important then the english itself. im going to give the kid a break to seeing how i talk to alot of other kids on a usual basis.

DONT FORGET YOUR HOME ROW AND YOU GOTTA HIT THIS KEY WITH THIS FINGER - LOLLLL

and for 20 bucks yes all that sounds like a fair price.

I was seriously into coin collecting at nine (doesn't seem like fifty-seven years ago).

  9. Ricky: Welcome to CT! :welcome: Sounds like a good deal to me. I have a 9-year-old son. Be sure that a parent knows that you are on this site (or any site for that matter). :smile TC

Since this thread is not close to the title anymore, I just want to point out that Hobo's picture is quite studly.

Thanks but I'm not just a pretty face. I would prefer to be recognized for my vast knowledge of coins rather just my "studly" good looks.

LOL. I don't really know how to play pool. I do gamble with my parents and family. My mum still owes me $200 :D

You did well with your purchases Ricky. If you can get that money from your Mom, buy more coins... Please do not take some of the comments seriously, just keep asking the questions, the people on this forum are happy to help you.

Especially Hobo's comment about "just another pretty face". In real life he's way more handsome......;)

It's easy to see that some folks here need to find better things to do than sit at their computer.

You did OK kid. Every buy and sell is a lesson learned ... keep up the good work !

Yes, it is that bad and I see no reason to defend illiteracy nor any reason to criticize others for calling attention to it. My niece is 10 and she has been writing much better than that for a couple of years now. Green is right. Learn to write instead of tweeting. This is what too much texting and e-mail can do. As for the coins, not a bad buy.
