What's with this 1982 1c ?

    Found this roll searching. Can't match it up to anything. It looks a lot like the 8 is over an "S" mark ?

    unless he is saying that the 8 is literally over an "s" rather than above which is why I asked for pics.

    Well, true. I guess I was making an assumption that the S was a mintmark.

    It looks like a plating bubble to me. These are common on the early zincers.

    that is the early stages of zinc rot. the zinc below the copper plating is oxidizing and it will eventually pop like a zit.

    Could be, it wouldn't depress fro me like the bubbles generally do. However, with all the trouble it took to get the pic up, maybe I should toss it in the "junk" jar with a few unusual plate buckled ones I found ? lol
