Top Three Worst Coin Designs

I love both the obverse and reverse of the Buffalo Nickel. In fact, I prefer this design over the current Jefferson design. However, I am Native American, so I am bias in that regard.

I don’t care much for portraits of Susan B. Anthony or Eisenhower on their respective dollars. For example, I’ve always felt like they intentionally designed the coin so that Susan B. Anthony looked like an old hag/witch. Who knows, maybe the designer was against the Woman’s Movement. :too-funny: Seriously though, I strongly believe that they could have depicted Susan B Anthony better.

On the other hand, I absolutely love the reverse design on both the SBA and Ike Dollars (yes, I’m aware that the design is identical ). Whenever I look at the depiction of the eagle landing on the moon I always feel a sense of pride. Almost as if I am internally saying, “Yeah, take that Russia! We won the Space Race.” :yes:

Oh I also hate Kennedy halves, unless they're silver then I'll deal with their ugliness.

 

Those I find boring too.

Heck most current U.S. coinage is junk.

I will admit, I do like the current jefferson portrait only cause its different then what we usually see.

Shield penny, Susan B's, & Ikes! Most of all the Shield Penny its so plain and they could have made a better design! Maybe they won't wait 50 yrs to change it!

 

Hm, I'd have to go with SBA, shield nickel, and Jefferson nickel. Honestly, I find the Jefferson nickel kinda dull, not gonna lie.

Jeffy nickel svucks compared to a Buffy than only ran 25 years as mandated

Washy Q's cutting short the SLQ's run is horrible, plus they are ungradeable, is it Vg or

EF ?

Killing the awsome WLF for the ugly Franklin half with the afterthought micro-eagle was a crime....even if they toned nicely in GI 1957-8 double mint sets !

Those are the three modern enough ones.

Now the Kennedy half is a monstrosity in of itself, Throw that design together in 1.5 months and it and we coin it effectively ended the denomination. Hideous coin and popular since nobody spends them anymore.

Honorable mention since Benny would not have wanted to be portrayed as a pseudo king type of dude, nor washington , etal.

I also go with the Eisenhower dollar. I could never understand why some people collect them. BTW, I love Barber coins and the buffalo nickel.
