    Yacorie,
I see Loomis at the banks a couple times a week. Are they just providing FRN's and not coin? Or does Loomis get their coin from Dunbar and that is how Dunbar services all the banks in CT? Where do the clear wrapped coins come from? I'm asking because I have been seeing them at 1st Niagra and they don't produce a thing for me. All the other boxes I get (dimes) are Strings & Son wrappers. What kind of wrappers should I expect from Dunbar, same thing S&S? Thanks for the information/input. Not good if I'm searching everyone's dumps and tying up my money. How have your boxes been lately?

I forgot to mention....I passed a milestone last week, over 2000 silver halves found. :) No luck today, so far...

I searched $200 in halves today and found no silver. I did find a 1974-D double die though.

That stinks! I'd find a new bank; I know banks sometimes gotta limit the amounts of coin, but no need to be rude.

    Sweetness! I am humbled... :hail:

I know I'm hooked. I thought I wouldn't be doing any more searching until we get back from the Caribbean... I'm out running some errands, I figure I'll ask at some of the smaller banks I'm going by. I get $40 CWR H's from one, $40 from another, $6.50 loose from another, yada yada yada... skunk. So, I stop at another Community Something Something Bank, and they've got $300 CWR, so I use my handy new tactic of saying, "I'll buy $100 off ya." (Thank you Merc, et. al.) Go out to the car and check out a few rolls... CLINK CLINK! I jet over to my bank, withdraw $200 and head back; she goes into the vault for the $200, sticks her head out and says, "Actually, there's $360 in here." I had an extra $50, so I get $250, tell her I'll be right back. Go get more cash, return and buy up the remaining $110. So I wound up with $460 CWR from this one bank.

Found 12 x 40% and a really beat up 1964! One of the 40%'s is a really nice 1966.

OK, no more searching for me until we get back (Now, I gotta dump this $540...). I hope to have Internet access, so I'll check in from time to time. :smile

Nice find SorterX, I always just take whatever they have, that is if I can afford it all, :).

@Melina, can I ask which bank this was that is no longer accepting your coin? I agree definatly find another bank altogether.

@Bobbeth, awesome dude! 2000 is a kickass milestone, I hope to get there in a few years.

Okay just went back and read some of Melina's orginial post. Suntrust I have not heard of and we probably don't have in the Midwest where I'm at.

If you were dumping every other day, even that small amount I can see why they might be giving you a hard time. That's why I really try and limit my dumping so that each dump bank only sees me once a week, with $500 at the most. I know all banks are different, but so far I haven't had any issues.

Finished searching my first box of nickels today. It was a lot of fun and can't wait to do more. My results were:
3 Buffalo nickels (two no date and 1 1927)
    2 war time nickels
    12 before 1960
7 before 1950 (not including the war times)
    one 1938 and two 1939's

Found a local bank that had 180 in BWH's...got a box of dimes, another $70 in CWD's and $20 in CWN's.

    1 - 1964 Kennedy
    1 - 1964 Rosie

The bank with the halves I hit last. They have another $250. I'm getting a box from one of my weekly banks, and I'll probably grab the rest of the $250. So, $750 to search. Hopefully, this will give some good results. Halve boxes have been pretty slim lately for me.

Today my family decided we should go to Indiana so that's where we went. They refused to stop at any banks. However, while we were at walmart I stopped at the bank there and the teller had never heard of either halves or large dollar coins. Also, I called a bank and they said they had $1000 in halves, so tomorrow I'll go pick up as much as I can.

8 rolls of dimes, and $10 in loose halves. No silver, no rares. I did however find a bicentennial with the beginnings of some interesting toning, a greenish tinge on the reverse. Not valuable, but I think I'll hang onto that one; it's pretty lol. I'd post a pic, but my camera phone can't even begin to pick up the color.

Box of halves, box of dimes, both skunks.

Not having a good week. Five silver nickels and one silver dime is all I have to show for everything so far. Hopefully tomorrow yields something good before I head to Dorney Park.

Box of nickels that was a mix of cwr's and bwr's... 26 pre 60 oldest was a 1938, one war (45s) and 3 machine wrapped rolls that are from the Silver Legacy casino in Reno. I did not open these yet. If anyone is interested in the casino rolls PM me.

Casinos, as I've discovered are a great alternative place to pick up, if you just so happen to already be there lol.

Searched $120(cleaned the bank out) in BWR kennedys and found 2-2010's 1-90% and 3-40% the best part was the head teller asked if I was looking for silver, so I wasn't to hope-full thinking they might go through them. Needles to say I'm pumped because that was my biggest find to date.

Just an update, I went to my hometown bank and got $200 more Kennedys and found 4-64's and 31-40% so I immediately went back up to get the rest they had. But when I got there the bank pres. told me they are no longer selling any coins to individual's and he finally told me "ok you can get a couple" but not $200 so I walked out, I'm thinking about withdrawing my accounts but it wouldn't mean anything to them, just be more hassle for me.
