cant seem to find anything on this coin. any and all help would be appreciated. is it silver? it weighs 2/3 of an ounce

Probably could'nt take a picture of his own, so he borrowed one....Of course there very small barely noticeable details that can determine if it's authentic or fake on these coins....
I would say at least 99% of all of these coins are fakes. It was one of the first heavily faked Chinese silver dollars, the original has always been scarce and expensive as type collectors have valued this tremendously because its the first picture of a car on coins. I have seen good quality fakes of this coin since the late 70's. This is one of the premiere coins that should be authenticated if real, since most dealers seeing one automatically assume fake, for good reason. Ah, but the original post starts out "cant seem to find anything on this coin", while the web site where the picture was apparently obtained provides a very nice description of the coin. The mystery deepens.
I would start with an accurate weight and compare versus what is should be. Like I said before, there are untold quantities of fakes of this particular coin, I myself have about 5 fakes. Start with weight and if that is good then move on to a more serious look. Most of the fakes out there are the wrong weight, since they are not silver. I hope that helps. Chris
