Extra leaf quarter

    As I mentioned in another thread, I was going through my collection and found a forgotten box of coins I had pulled out of circulation too many years ago to remember. Here is another quarter that caught my attention those years ago. Looks like it has an extra leaf on the reverse.

    I assume you are referring to the "blob" above the left branch, it looks like a die chip or a cud.

    May be a die chip but it is not a cud. A cud must include the rim.

    I wasn't quite sure what caused it, I thought that it was interesting that it happened to occur in a place that made it look like an extension of the olive branch.

    Yea, I think Hobo is right, cuds come along the rim.
