I was browsing a few pamphlets Green was so generous to send me, and I saw this: http://www.whitmanbooks.com/Default.aspx?Page=81&ProductID=626KIT I am thinking of getting it!
That's a great kit. Although I really dislike the push folders. The rest is nice if you need the Redbook and the magnifying glass.
Brings back memories. I was given a similar kit in 1976 bought from JCPenney's. In fact, I still have the two black boxes they came in. The big brown cardboard box the whole kit came in contained my "treasures" for many years as a child, until I broke it with too much weight from the junk silver I was buying. I think the redbook, magnifying glass, and 2x2's are worth it for you. Just be careful of shipping charges, but other than that sounds like a great start for you for supplies.
I ordered a kit, because I have a friend that needs a RedBook. It was $ 5.95 shipping. Including a Free National Parks mini folder!

Yeah! All the way to 10 for experienced collectors: 1893-S Morgan, 1916-D Merc, 1955 Lincoln DDO, 1804 Flowing Hair $, etc.........all for the one low price of $29.95. Of course, if the coins aren't BU, then it wouldn't be worth it. Chris
