I think you'd like this one. There's not a carbon spot to be seen. There are plenty of marks on the holder though.

It is a PCGS holder, but I bought this for my Type Set in the NGC Registry. The grade is PR66BN. I love the 66BN grade in copper.....both proof and MS.

Just bought this today. This might be the some of the nicest color I've ever seen on a regular business strike Franklin.
Since it's single-sided toning, I am guessing it came from an old U.S. Mint Set with the sulfur-laden tissue paper cover.

EEEK! You should only let the monsters out around Halloween. Not my style, but looks wonderful. Congrats on the purchase.

I was really pleased to add this coin to my set as it is an easily obtainable coin in most grades, but I try to hold out for something unique. This one is a 65 RB and I really fell for the target toning on this one. A few prints are present, but easily overlooked when this coin is in hand. Thanks, Matt

Pic from seller, horrible pic. Paid $40. Not a bad price for a 66fb.

I'm likin' blue reflective ASE proofs and generic 2011D shield cents......:)

Dwhiz? Thinking you might have overpaid for that one. Take care and watch out for them "sharks" in the future........

I may have as I paid with a state quarter and the dealer looked at it and thought it was a Delaware but it wasn't.
As for the sharks I only swim in lakes...oh wait I'm going to the FUN show in Jan. that will be loaded with sharks and piranha

I recently had the chance to buy a whole box of rolls but since most of them were later date wheats in the 50s I passed on all but the earliest two. I don't know what I'll do with them in the time to come, but for now I will keep them intact and be satisfied just wondering how nice some of them inside must look like. Pretty cool to have a few OBWRs laying around from WWII :)

pezdspnsr, I love your lighting effect on the ASE ... VERY COOL ... How did you manage to get the mirror on the coin blue? Was the coin reflecting a blue wall? Or perhaps evening blue sky? The color really makes the cameo pop too. A very cool photographic effect. In any case, congrats on your first Silver Eagle!! Once you buy one, you will buy more I'm sure. A truly gorgeous coin.

dwhiz, keep that collection going! what year does your LC collection start?

coppermania, nice rainbow on the 30-S and very cool old rolls (boy you rarely see those anymore!)

ldhair, what is a "clashed die" exactly? i have heard that term from time to time but have no idea what it is, or how you recognize it.

merccrazy, Nice one!! I love it! Great original toning. Those old green holders often house great coins!

Thanks WingedLiberty! It was the sky. I had to use natural light to get a decent image because my flash and incandescent bulbs in the house just wasn't cutting it. I tilted the coin over by my sliding door to get some decent light and there you go. A blue reflecting ASE :)

Fantastic look. It almost appears Miss Liberty is walking outside with a blue sky background ... it's gives a nice 3D effect.

This one just came back from ANACS PR63 RB. Both pictures are of the same coin, just two lighting sources.
