US Nickel

    Hi! I live in Canada, so I've never seen this style of nickel. Just wondering it's value + what it's called.

    That's just the new style of nickle that was started in 2006. Worth 5 cents.

    probably just the angle of the picture but those eyes seem to pop out and have the whole "follow you around the room" look going on

    It kinda does, haha. Yeah after looking through my wallet, I found like 5 nickles just like that one.

    In 2004 the U.S. Mint has made some redesigns of some of our coinage. The Jefferson nickle went through a reverse change in 2004 with 2 new reverse designs associated with the Westward Journey series, and in 2005 a new obverse design was created and again in 2006, which is the design on the obverse of your coin and the current design in use.

    They did the same to the reverse of Lincoln pennies in 2009 and again in 2010, the current shield reverse.
