Are they $25 rolls? I'm not too familiar with that denomination.

I just read your original post when you scored 322 frankies over a year ago. That is the most incredible thing I have heard of! Congrats on that and finishing your set. I just did the math, you scored $4.5k in silver for $161 dollars. Truely amazing! I don't think I would have slept for weeks.

Received some good advice from a CoinTalk member and went to another bank "off the beaten path" in my area. Unfortunately, same result. 8 rolls of dimes with lots of 1965+, but no silver.

    More Advice:
You may get lucky but remember it's volume that will land you the silver. I made an earlier post, I'm pulling 1.67 silver Roosie from $250 worth. I also have searched around $1500 with only one Roosie (very frustrating). Then you get rewarded with 7 or so in $400 searched. You'll have to take the bad with the good.

Thanks for the feedback @Hellofthenorth. I'm going to stick with it. To get to this particular bank is ~ 2 mi and I have to walk it .... so I may be able to lug 10 - 12 rolls at a time. Don't think I can manage a box.

You'd be surprised how much you can carry in a backpack!

I've been doing 2 boxes of H's in a backpack, and a box of D's in a canvas bag for several weeks now. I do take the trolly, but I have to walk to and from the stops. :dismay:

I may stick with 8 rolls at the furthest bank and pick up extra rolls as I make it closer to home :)
SorterX, out of curiosity, any idea how much a box of H's weigh??

Excluding the boxes and wrappers (negligible weight):

    Box of P's = 14.56 lbs/6.63 kilos (based on 25% Cu P's)
    Box of N's = 22 lbs/10 kilos
    Box of D's = 12.47 lbs/5.67 kilos
    Box of Q's/H's = 24.95 lbs/11.34 kilos

Wow ... that's some good heft. I may start counting my coin roll hunt as part of my workout regime!

I always comment to the cute young, lady tellers during my regular pick up (62.37 lbs) about getting their work out for the week.

I searched through $100 in nickels today and found:

    *One War nickel, a 1942-S.
*29 early Jeffersons (oldest was 1940).
*Four Canadian and an East Caribbean States two-cent piece.

I'll probably go back to a box on my next nickel hunt; I've had more luck with War nickels and Buffaloes in boxes compared to a mix of CWR's from different banks.

I did yet another box of dimes. Today I found a '64, '63, '61, and '48. So for this week I've been averaging, now, 2.67 silvers per box.

I'd say that's pretty close to my average. I do about 5k per week with dimes and average around 1.75 per box. I do more bags and they run about the same. I will be honest, there is a supplier that i get one silver dime every 5 boxes. Needless to say they are my dump banks now.

How do you have the time to do 20 boxes a week? I'm lucking if I can manage to do 5 and I don't even work.

I usually do about 3-4 bags and the rest boxes. I work nights as well.

Ugh, two contaminated boxes. Dimes still gave up a '64, but the nicks were dry.
