She was at the bank and wanted to let me know that some lady was depositing bags of Kennedy's and IKE's Picked up 480 Kennedy's - (Correction $480 in Kennedy's) (Correction - $480 in HALF DOLLARS-Sheesh!) 1 - 54S 1 - 61D 1 - 63D 3 - 64 3 - 64D 16 - 1965 26 - 1966 51 - 1967 72 - 1968-D 32 - 1969-D --------------- 206 Total Silver Coins Out of the Clad Coins I pulled 2-72-D DDR's, 1 - 72 DDR, 2-1971-D RPM-002's, a 1990-D with Lathe Marks on the Surface, a 1972-D DDO that I believe is uncataloged, a 1972-D CUD-001, and several 71D DDO's. 1971-D RPM-001 1972-D DDO The 72-D is literally beat to death but I think it has a whole lot of merit. The IKE's gave up a a couple of interesting coins but nothing of real note.
The teller related to me that she had suggested the lady go to a coin store as some of the Kennedy's (and oddball Franky's ) might be silver. She didn't care, she just wanted to be rid of them.
I have heard tellers at banks looking for the top buyers on 90% and 40% silver and Peace and Morgan dollars that they routinely get from customers. How could the customers be so dumb to turn in their silver at face value? I kept getting calls from a bank teller who was trying to call the top with the silver craze a couple of months ago--coins he had gotten at face value. He had $100 face. I gave him a strong offer near the top, he waited and got caught holding his bag. Those in the know on actual value of old coins get a little tired trying to educate people about how to get top dollar.
1954s,1961-D and 1963-D Kennedy Halves.... Is this real Kennedy Silver Half or maybe Franklin Half...90% silver...
