Just got skunked on a box of halves. This is my 4th skunk box in a row, one more and I tie my record, which I know is nothing compared to what some of you have gone thru.

Also the box I got today was SS although this branch normally does Brinks for me. Hopefully it will be Brinks when I stop by on Wednesday. SS always sucks for me.

Might have a full week lined up. Checking another branch tomorrow that sometimes has halves for me. It seems the assistant manager that always orders for me is constantly going on vacation so she keeps forgetting to get my coins.

Also spoke to a co-worker and he said his son really liked the half dollars I gave him. I told my co-worker I will bring him some old Nickels (pre-1960), some wheaties, an Ike dollar. I think this kid is really gonna like this stuff, he's 9.

After a few weeks searching nickels, I found in a 1938 S and a 1938 in the same batch today!!! I'm so pumped to fill those spots in my collection :) Can't believe they're still in circulation, especially the 1938S!

    I don't have the '38-D or '38-S yet, but I have numerous '38's.

Off on Friday, first weekday off in over a month. Time for a road trip to where I had my best finds ever in the spring. :)

Found my first Canadian half in a box today, looked it up and it's 80% silver ;) . Photos are from an iPhone which doesn't do it justice, it has really nice luster in hand. photo.JPG photo(1).JPG

Went to my best-luck bank today. One roll of halves was a skunk BUT the teller saved for me 3 1957 Silver Certificates, and 2 were star notes! Got 'em for $3. I'm not really a paper-money kind of guy but silver certs pump me up.

Nice find on the Canadian collig....sp? :)

My mom got one of those from her friend that works part time as a Cashier in a wal-mart in rural Illinois.

Agreed, nice find on the Canadian. Considering cent boxes around here are about 5% Canadian, I figured I'd have found at least one Canadian half so far, silver or not. But alas, it hasn't happened yet.

Are you sure? I can see it in the photo, it's faint but I can see it. Was able to make one stop today. 3 cwr's of halves = nothing. Half way through a cent box I picked up a couple days ago. 8 common wheats and 6 canada cents.

Indeed, I was quite happy! The gentleman that saved them for me was moving to another branch of the same bank, and had to empty his cash box, so he chose me as the lucky recipiant (sp?).

Ofcourse I would have liked silver coinage instead, but beggars can't be choosers...also, it has been a while since I have found anything...but I also have not had a lot of cash with witch to search. Maybe with my last $80 or so I'll ask for some dimes, might just get lucky =DDD

In a box of dimes I found a '53 and a '52 that was painted completely green, thank god my knife was able to cut the paint off.

Two boxes of halves yesterday - skunk

1 CWR of halfl dollars and it had a 1969 canadian dollar coin in really good condition. It's not silver, it's pure nickel, but I really like the reverse design they used on their dollar coins

The $100 in dimes I picked up yesterday where skunk. Going to trade them in for a $100 in Q's on lunch. Still have trouble finding non 2011 dime boxes so I have been resorting to Q's. So far I have searched $750 in Q's with nothing but a couple Canadians to get me excited and then crush me.

I heard someone mention silver certs...I have a handful of them, too bad you can't really get silver for them anymore like it says on the bill. Any good ideas on What I should do with them, I'm not into collecting paper money. Got some old $2 bills and the red seal $5 as well.
