Beautiful coin - except someone decided to drill a hole in Liberty's face. I apologize for the crappy photo of the obverse - my camera decided it didn't want to take nice photos today.
When I think of circulated coins, I think of a coin that has been around the block. One that was held and carried in the pockets of early Americans as they witnessed the building of this country. Just makes a guy wonder. As much as I like a coin that survived all that in perfect shape, I respect a coin that weathered life and shows experience, much like older people. This particular coin has at least two sets of counter stamps and is even bent. Some might say it is trashed, but I like it for it's coarseness and I thought the eagle stamp was pretty cool and one worth keeping. M
I remember my parents aka Santa bringing me these sets for Christmas when I was eight or so. They are made from circulated coins, so it seems proper to post them. I was in coin heaven! Spent nearly all the next week eyeballing them...even brought them to show and tell once!
