    Two boxes of dimes gave up 5 silvers and a silver canadian... Only one in the first, the second was my best dime box in a while.

    I was under the impression that the drink machines didn't accept silver. Is this not the case?

    Also during my latest run of the banks in town I found one 1964 Kennedy at the first bank I went to. Went to 5 banks, all of which had small amounts of loose halves. I always seem to get lucky on the first bank I go to, then get nothing at the rest, but I'm plenty happy with one '64. I think I searched a total of $25.00 in halves, all loose.

    Well Bob, got your text. I hadn't been getting boxes but my wife and I were out running around so took a shot. I went and got a box from both Cap Ones you suggested. Go figure both were skunks (As I have come to expect). Luckily, it was not a total waste as one of the tellers had saved a 1962 Franklin and 6 40% halves for me. At least that helped justify the time to my wife lol.

    Anyway report:
    Box 1 - Skunk
    Box 2 - Skunk
    $3.50 in loose: 1 90%, 6 40% Saved by teller.

    Friday Report (on Saturday)

    Had to go to the dentist yesterday; didn't feel like doing much of anything after that. :missing-tooth:

    Managed to dump at 2 new banks right near his office, though. :)

    BWR H's: 100 rolls -> 3 x 40% H's; 9 x NIFC
    Box 1: 8 x NIFC
    Box 2: 3 x 40% H's; 1 NIFC
    BWR D's: 50 rolls -> 1 Roosie
    CWR D's: 10 rolls -> skunk
    BWR N's: 50 rolls -> 3 x war
    BWR P's: 25 rolls -> 4 rolls Cu P's; 3 Wheaties

    Finally found some silver in the boxes of H's! The odd part was finding all three in 2 out of the last 3 rolls, and two of them were right next to each other in one roll! heh

    Not a bad week overall. Still trying to grow my volume a bit, sans vehicle, but I'm getting the hang of it. I've been pleased with the N's; they go very fast and the return has been decent.

    Picked up my regular 2 boxes H's and box of D's from my favorite bank yesterday, so I'll have a little something for the weekend.

    Everyone have a good weekend! :cheers:

    TOG - Same thing happened to me this morning. First bank - a 1964 out of $2 in loose halves. Found about $22 more loose. No Silver.

    Worked a dime box today and it was 2/3 all 2011 P's. The rest - no Silver.

    The 1 x 64 Kennedy saved my day. Now I'm chilling the rest of the weekend. Have another business trip this week...Blah!

    Box of Nickels gave up a '23 in AG, and 3 war nicks.

    Still haven't found a '43-D in a roll, and I'm up to 110 war nicks pulled from circ... jeeze.

    I'm with you too, found several hundred the last couple years. Ended up picking one online for about $15 in MS condition. It is the lowest vintage war nick out of the bunch.

    I bought one off my dealer for $2.50 to fill the hole... but I still really wanna find one from circulation, ya know?

    I went thru 20 rolls of halves I got at my local small city bank and found 1 1964 and 8 40% and Kennedy halves.

    I don't mind it though, I love finding one '64, especially if it's only in about $20 of loose halves. It's just strange that it's usually at that first bank!

    Moonshine ....................

    Stopped at a couple of banks this AM. One teller knows I am looking for older coins since I found a solid roll of silver dimes there once and have been asking her when I go in for older looking rolls. She checked the under-the-counter minivault and only had BWR's of dimes. She then says "I know there are some silver coins in the coin dispenser since we just filled it and I thought of you." She takes the top off the dispenser and I see the top of the 2 dime slots with solid silver edges. She told me she bought them (from the head teller) from the vault to fill the machine. She then made a joke about going into the vault for me. I need to handle this properly and get the head teller to dig out any old looking rolls. To be continued...

    Bottomline: 45 silver Rosies for face

    I heard about this, and I tried a whole box of halfs from my local small town bank. I didnt find one good one out of all of those kennedys. No silver, no special dates. Either someone beat me to em or there just wasnt any to be found in that box. After all the time I spent I didnt feel like doing it again lol so I just kept the few years I didnt have and cashed the rest back in. Maybe someday Ill try again and have better luck.

    Just finished a nice box of H's: 1 x '64, 4 x 40%, and 6 NIFC. Not bad... but now I'm starting to wonder about what to do with all the NIFC's I've found. Trying to see what they might fetch on FeeBay and I came across this:

    2004-P&D Roll of Kennedy Halves

    Am I reading that right? Someone sold a roll of H's for LESS than face? And that doesn't even include the loss in outrageous fees!

    Given the ones I find are circulated, I'm thinking it's not worth trying to sell them. Any comments?

    If you have a lot of various dates, my suggestion would be to put them in a folder (like 2000-present, forget the date seperation) and sell it as a full set of NIFC

    The 2009 will bring a premium one day, so don't forget to save a few for yourself.

    Agreed - I never mind finding Silver, especially 90%, in loose from tellers. The boxes have been slim pickens lately. So, I'll take it anyway I can!!! Good Job!
