What are your thoughts on short term and long term pennies storage?
I’m thinking I’ll pop all the pennies out of the old folders (one of the Whitman’s has a hand written date of 1962 in it and the brown Dansco folders have fallen apart).
The couple of “albums” I have look like a better plan (pic 3).
I’ve already found a 1909 VDB that looks better than any of the three punched in folders.
Figured I’d store what I popped out apart from the coffee containers and figure out what I’ll keep once the containers have been gone through.
This penny project may never be completed. Larger denominations are more interesting.

    Thanks for any input/opini Punch.jpeg Punch 2.jpeg Album.jpeg 1909 VDB Rev.jpeg 1909 VDB Obv.jpeg ons.

You’d pop them out to photograph the reverse!

That 1913 still has some mint shine. Very nice.

We generally regard the Whitman Lincoln cent books as book one and book two. Book one could certainly hold some desirable dates. Book two are all common dates. I have seen complete book twos sold for ten bucks or so….. Point being that they are organized and if they catch the dreaded cardboard crud toning, you won’t really lose anything. Book one coins you may certainly want to free from the bondages of that catalog. That 09-VDB is a very desirable cent. Wouldn’t want to see those get lost to cardboard crud toning.

I went ahead and popped all the pennies out. They’re pretty fugly on the back side. Probably to be expected from them ones from the 1960s.
The pics above were coffee container finds. Sorry for the confusion.
I’m going to pop all the nickels, dimes, quarters, halves, and dollars out of Whitmans as well.

The shortage will end when the cent is eliminated, unfortunately.
