nice mercs and frankies! hey swish, is the color on that bottom ancient what they call a "hard green patina?" ... that's nice looking!
no, it's actually what they call verdigris, or corrosion, or whatever. the coin was cheap ($5), and i liked the reverse design, so i picked it up. normally, that much corrosion would make me run from the coin.
Although I have a few of these already I couldn't pass on this one. It arrived today. I'm not rabid about commemoratives. But some of them are so darned pretty, don't you think? Irresistible. Lance.
I tend to be a tad rabid. Picked this up a few weeks ago....... Raw and worldly with a cat scratch goin' through CC's eye, but the colour got me.
I have a feeling this thread will light up like a Christmas Tree after the Chicago ANA Convention. We are going to have a fair amount of coin talk members present, and with such a large boarsh area, there will be some serious money trading hands.
I agree MS-63-64!!!! Grader's must have been or just rushed it thur.Maybe Ngc has put a quota on graders ? but sure missed that grade Big time! :kewl:
I agree to disagree. I have seen a few MS-63-64RB 1909 the look the same as that on in a Pcgs slab to. but I am no expert noway shape or form. just saying
I would think a 63 is within reach of that coin, all-be-it doubtful, but there is just no way that would make a 64.
