Silver is up almost $1.00; yesterday's Provident price is now below spot. However, the Provident price has moved up as well...

The listing looks fine to me. We get a ton of Canadian change in upstate New York, also. I will be watching and considering if I should put my "collection" up as well.

Yesterdays one stop... 9 cwr's of halves got me one 40%. I also picked up a box of cents and will report on that later. I find a good amount of canadian coin as well. My inlaws live there so I spend it when I go to visit.

    Unheard of.....
Stopped at two banks on my lunch break and both told me the same thing as I was not an account holder.

They would not buy my rolled coin
They would not trade my rolled coin for other denominations
They would not sell me coin

This has only happened two other times at a supermarket type bank and a Citizens bank. One of these banks again happened to be Citizens, the other 1st Niagra.
Funny thing is another 1st Niagra Branch will do all of the above for me with a smile!

make a few calls. When banks tell me "NO", I will not stop! I would open up a savings acct, withdraw everything but a few bucks, and use that bank to dump all my coins. Sure you might get hit with fees for the low acct, but the pleasure of being a valued customer would allow you to go up the banks chain of command and solve any problems with any nonhelpful tellers. Try to get in touch with the banks PR rep. Chase bank here in nyc has denied me coins many times over. 1 call to the VP straightens things out in a days time. I even leave reviews of a few banks.

I use TD bank to dump coins. They changed the rules recently. It used to be free for anyone. Now they charge like 8% to non customers! I had to open up a savings and keep 10 bucks in at all times. Im charged $4 a month for keeping the acct under 500. But it beats paying 8% when I dump 500 dollar coins at a time!
TD also has magnets in the coin machines that will steal all your foreign money!!! So beware. Ive seen them fill huge bags with them. I asked where does all that stolen change go? Nobody knows.

It may be frustrating but if you do NOT have an account with a bank, why should they provide you with ANY services? I may not like it but do I understand it.

I was out of town today, so I stopped at 4 banks and got about 400-500 worth of halves total, all customer wrapped. Big score.
    20 40%ers, 1 1964, and my first Franklin! A 1960 D. I'm very excited.

I'm not saying that I disagree with them it's more of a PR type of thing and a matter of trying to gain more customers. The other banks I deal with have nice tellers and I don't have account with them and they buy, sell, trade coin with me, even other branches of these same banks provide these services for me. By dropping off lets say $100 in Q's, I figure I'm saving them money because they don't have to order as often. And if they do order coin, if they order 1 box or 10, I'm pretty sure they get charged the same amount. So to hear that twice in a day, I figured I let CT members know and hear thoughts on the matter. It certainly does make me want to open up a custodial account for my daughter with no min balance and no fees so I can dump all my clad dimes and other coin on them. Use the free coin wrappers that they provide, etc. That would end up costing them more in the long run I would figure. Where the other branches that I go to and don't have accounts and they still service me, those place will be my "buy" banks and I would consider opening accounts there and hold balances. It's almost like a test drive with a car to see if you want to buy.

I totally agree. Tellers have so much down time, I guess they would rather sit there and stare at a wall rather than try and gain a new customer. Some idle chit chat while making the transaction would make the day go by faster for sure. A simple, "oh, we typically only do this for account holders, but here's our information perhaps you would consider opening account with us. We'd be happy to have you as a customer and service you with your coin needs. I'll do this for you this one time since you took the time to stop in". That would go miles in my book...anyone agree?

You must NOT have been in my neck of the woods. All the banks here will only sell coin to account holders....ha ha ha
Still burned about those unfriendly tellers I ran into earlier today...I'm done venting
