I was traveling this week and am in the Pittsburgh area. Had some extra time before my business meeting. Saw a close by coin shop and stopped in (Cranberry Coins & Currency, LLC). Anyhow bought a few coins including two Lincoln 55 "poor man double dies". They are not worth anything, but now I have have two of them.

always fun to collect, show pics :). I just love wheats and would have done the same, how did you like the store?.. I know where Cranberry is since I am from Erie, how far from 79 is it? Going just south of Pittsburgh to raft on the ohiopyle on the 30th

Since I am traveling I have no good camera. The store is Right off of 79/76. The owner is very interesting and all of his coins in 2x2's had no price. He said just make me an offer. I had never seen or heard that before. He had quite the personality.

I love stopping in a coin shop while traveling. It helps that I have my coin inventory on a spread sheet that I can pull up on my Black Berry. In any case I was not serious shopping. The two 55's I got are what I would call BU's. It was fun. My boss was with me and he just liked watching what was going on.

Poor man's DD are actually very common for 1955 (and somewhat for other years).

As an aside, I-79 (Pittsburgh to Erie) is probably the prettiest highway I have been on. Nothing spectacular, but nice rolling hills and wildlife/farms all the way.

Being from the area, I can tell that you've never been on that road in the winter, especially the area around I-80. That would give you an entirely different viewpoint. But when it's nice out, your comment is right on.

Been there many times both summer and winter. I was raised about 15 miles from I80 & I79 junction. Mostly drove it going north to school. I even spent 1 1/2 sitting about 200 yards from an exit until the semis jockeyed enough to let the cars off (route 62) because a semi had jack knifed 4 hours earlier.

And I particularly liked the Edinboro Meadeville area and their paperbark birch.
