So here's a 1947 D Wheat Penny. In the first picture, you can see the "7" appears to have a tail and some sort of shadow "7" directly behind it. In the second image, you can see the words "WE TRUST" have some sort of double thing going on as well. Please forgive my rookie language, I am quite new to this but I know this is not what the coin is supposed to look like lol.
The '7' was struck and damaged by something. The "doubling" on the letters near the rim is most likely a sign of die deterioration, not doubling.
Hopefully these are a little closer view than what I previously provided. Can anyone tell me about the 4 and 7 having shadow images directly behind them and why the "IGWT" is so unusual in appearance??
