Awesome job Melina! I remember my first! It was a 1961D! To date I only have about 7 silver Washingtons (8 silver quarters total, not including the 40% Bicentenial) and I remember where all of them came from! Most from rolls...actually I have found more quarters than any other silver-made denomination, but statisticly that should not be true.

Searched another box of halves. No Silver.

However, I found a 1986 D Half Dollar Statue of Liberty Commerative coin. That's my first commerative. It is clad, but the red book values it at $6.50. So, I'm pretty excited. It's a good looking coin.

So, I frogot to say, here ar ethe events that took place: I got $8 in cents from Bank of America.I got home, looked through em all, I found a 1956-D Cent in my first roll, and a 1944 in my second roll, 2 BU 1960's cents. I was happy that I got thouse in 16 rolls, so the next day, (today) I asked me gramps if we could go to the bank and get coin wrappers so I went to BOA, and got 30. On the way to get some more wrappers, I looked on the floor of the car, and I found a brinks wrapped roll of cents. I thought i must have dropped it on my way from my first BOA visit. My gramps had to do some things before we went to the bank, so he got our car washed, and I opened the roll, and found a 1955-D cent! I was estatic! So, I got the wrappers no problem(thanks brian for telling be I could ge them free from my bank) ,and I went home and rerooled all of them. I save all coppers , so I had $6 dollars worth after rerolling non-needed, and I asked my grandma if I could go to th bank one last time and get some more, so I took my CRC and $5 , and went to WF. (Wells Fargo), and got 22 rolls of cents no problem, and I took them home, I unwrapped 4 and found nothing, but copper so it was good:), and I am saving the rest for the car ride to LA tomarrow! Let you now latter guys! Have fun RSing!

Made a few stops today. #1 produced 2 ikes, #2 produced 5 ikes and 5 40% halves in 1 cwr. The teller almost forgot he had it as I was about to leave. Glad he remembered. #3 nothing and #4 produced 2 40%'s in 5 cwr's. Good day.

no worries, just post them when you can. the 1960 small date carries a decent, not huge, premium.

    Q's

Been looking thru some Q's this week since I tapped out a local bank on dimes. I also have been swapping my dimes I've searched for Q's and the tellers don't really seem to mind. I found a new Canadian Q this morning which got me all excited before I realized it was Canadian. Question is, what are people avg's when searching Q's. 1 silver out of $1000, better or worse? The Q's also seem a little easier to dump since they are so widely used. Please share your thoughts. Plan on trading some of the searched Q's for D's.

I searched through 10 rolls of Quarters yesterday and found a silver, but from what I've heard, that's pretty lucky. I guess it's just the luck of the draw! You could get $500 in quarters from the bank and not find anything, or go to another bank, pick up one roll, and hit the jackpot :) never know!

Quarters are the worst. I've never really searched them much, but 1 silver in 2 or 3 boxes is about right from what I heard. The reasons, I'm guessing, are that quarters are big enough to notice the silver, and widely used enough to be seen by lots of people. That's why they're tougher than dimes (small and harder to spot by non-collectors) and halves (infrequently used, and gone through). Also, with these new state quarters and such, there's a zillion of them circulating, so every box is flooded with 1999-current quarters. That's my guess.

I'm seeing the silver spot is moving up quickly today; The Wife showed me something yesterday...

3 coin collector set. Use code "2AP400"

Might be a good way to get some junk silver with a small premium that will be overcome soon.
