    Lincoln Cents Cents not pennies

What else was in that roll?

I'm not sure that its verdigris, they appear to be small spots of black spots of "gunk" lol for lack of a better word that don't appear to have caused corrosion or damage. I have an appointment Friday with a dealer to discuss sending it for preservation/grading. The details are so fine, especially the bow tie and hair that I think it may be worth it. Thank you so much for understanding my excitement! My family is starting to "get it" about my cherrypicking lol...i think this helped!

Maybe its what you wish for, some posts back I said "I'm still looking for a 1909 VDB" and didn't realize till after I hit send that the "S" was lacking in my post. One month later I got one lol!

There were mostly 60s and 70s of mixed years and conditions and a 1956. The only two "newer" pennies were an 80 and 81 that appear uncirculated. The age of the wrapper tells me that the roll was probably done in 81 and got left to sit in a drawer

Thank you, I'm just soooo excited to share this here and give everybody hope to keep looking. I thought IF I ever found a key date it would be some unrecognizable coin. The good ones are still out there! My hubby just brought more rolls to search, but for today I will just enjoy (and stare at) my find and enjoy it. (Ok, and get the better pics uploaded lol!)

I'd love to see a picture! I love history, and I love coins, but to think of the places where a 102 year old coin has been...

The above statement is true only if the 1909-S you are talking about is the Indian Head Cent.

    1909-S Lincoln Cent - 1,825,000
    1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent - 484,000
    1909-S Indian Head Cent - 309,000

Thank you so much for sharing those, they are absolutely beautiful!! Do you mind me asking what grades yours are our PM me? I love Indian Heads too, and I keep hoping to find one myself. As I opened my rolls today a friend who was visiting told me about an Indian Head he had about ten years ago, and that he hopes he still had it somewhere. Yes, he put it to the side and can't find it...ugh. I couldn't belive he lost it.

No problem...those are all MS65. The IHC is RB.

I hope your friend finds the coin!

    Nice find.

What are your plans? Album? Folder? 2x2? PCGS/NGC?

Yep, it is verdigris on the "E" (I know it was silly to doubt you) but I was hoping it was like the other black spots, until I looked again...I'm thinking it's a 64 RB because there are so many details in the whiskers and beard, hair, and bowtie, very similar to yours. Would it be crazy to have it preserved and graded?
