It wasn't shut down by eBay, he cancelled the bids and used the "item no longer available" excuse to end the auction.
I don't know if the others will be looked in to by eBay without reporting them or not... ???

You may find the thread above helpful if you have little experience with the variety. The OP is so obvious, the "urine stream" is hitting the hoof for gosh sakes and the cut looks a rotary tool . The obverse actual is easier to confirm for me after looking at the reverse and counting legs. The green arrows point at distinguishing details on true 3-legged buffaloes. The forehead and the floating feather are the most visible. The back of the neck is roughened, There is a die crack on the front of the neck. The thread above also gives hoof indicators.

  5. I know it wasn't shut down by EBAY, but there was enough heat that the seller shut the auction down. I posted this seller on PCGS forums as well.

I was mistaken about him selling modern bank boxes of cents.
He has the boxes pictured in the auctions, but they are listed as full of unsearched wheats.

Most of the seller's negs/neutrals come from buyers accusing him of selling fresh rolls of culls as unsearched.
The ends appear to be 'staged' or 'salted' with desireable coins, with the 48 in between being culls.

You never know what a seller will offer, I for one, know by experience.

I have been a key date coin collector for years. I am currently in the process of selling off my collection on eBay and hence, there is not much but key date stuff. I never collected middle of the road stuff.

I don't take any offense to your comment as much as I wanted to strongly disagree about the blanket statement of key date only sellers on eBay as I tend to disagree with most blanket statements.

If something is generally true, then it is by mere definition also very often untrue.

    Just sayin'

I just received this reply from ebay (I used the link ratio411 provided):

    Dear Scott,

Thanks for reporting this listing to us. I understand your concern over
    counterfeit coins on the site.

I sent this listing over to our Coin Community Watch group and they
agreed that the coin is fake therefore, I ended and removed the listing.

Again, thank you for your report. We appreciate your help in keeping
eBay a safe and reputable forum to conduct business.

Have a great day and thanks for using eBay.

    Sincerely,

    Judith

Nice job Scott! Keep that link handy for the thousands of other fakes that are being sold as genuine.
