Hi all. What are some of your display methods for proof ASEs? Do they make folders that display them in the mint capsules? My searches aren't turning up much....

I'm currently assembling a set and think they are beautiful.

    Thanks.

That's a good question -- I don't know of any, but I am interested in the answer. By the way, your avatar coin is wild!

Shoot. Thought I responded to this thread, but I guess not. Senior moment? Most likely indeed, as I can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning.....:)

Like my "winged" friend (and Silvrluvr too), I too would like to know of a way displaying these wonderful pieces.

Anybody out there? Pink Floyd moment.....

Since I have been buying multiple quantities of Proof ASE's each year, I still keep them in the original packaging.

I've seen an acrylic case for them, but I'm more interested in a folder type of display.

There was a member here that modified his Dansco to hold the capsules, doing away with the slides.
It's been a very long time since I read the post, so I don't recall who it was.

What I want to do is measure the diameter in MM of the capsules, and buy generic Dansco pages with that MM size holes.
Then you could discard the slides and push in the capsules.

Air tight makes coin folders that have card board felt covered inserts sized for the holders. ASE's are size H and fit 5 per insert. I am not sure if the Mint's air tight are an exact size match but it may be worth checking into. I think a good picture framing shop should be able to mount the insert between 2 pieces of glass with a frame. They also carry coin stands if you look under displaying items. Here's a link.........

I also keep mine in the original government packaging. Not the best for displaying them, but if I ever go to sell them, I want to have the OGP and COAs for them.
Your other option would be to get them slabbed/certified and then put them in an NGC or PCGS box, that would make it a little easier to display them.

A Dansco that would hold the capsules with no slides would be nice. I'm surprised that nobody seems to be making much for the proof ASEs. I'd like to be able to see all of mine together... I'm not concerned with the mint packaging or COAs. Just want a nice way to view my coins. Maybe we could design something? Would be fun to try. I was originally thinking of a wall display... but I'm more in the mood for a more discreet folder now. Any more ideas? Thanks.

That avatar coin came from a coin photo site... It's not mine... but I like it. The earth in the background from outer space is pretty neat on that reverse. One of my favorite designs.

That might do the trick. Wish they were labelled like a Dansco. I think I'd like to make a folder that would include the 2009 overstrike... gotta have that one. lol

I sent Dansco a request to make pages without slides that could hold capsules, and they responded they liked the idea, but that was about 2 years ago, and I haven't heard anything about it.

I also asked them to make a single page for the cent album that was nothing but 20 holes for the 2009 coins.
They said they really liked that idea, but again, never heard a peep about it since.

That's a shame... they should already be makin' them. The squeaky wheel gets the grease... lol.
